OBSERVANCE / COMMEMORATION / CELEBRATION

This is undertaken in cases of clerical error.  The clerical error must have all of the following:

(1)  It was committed in the performance of clerical work in writing, copying, transcribing or typing an entry;

(2)  It is harmless and innocuous (does not affect others negatively);

(3)  It is visible to the eyes or obvious to the understanding;

(4)  It can be corrected or changed only by reference to other existing record; and

(5) It has not been the subject of a previous petition.

The following entries can NOT be corrected under this procedure but can be corrected by COURT ORDER:

(1)  Nationality;

(2)  Age;

(3)  Civil Status; and

(4)  Sex.

      Step 1:             Prepare the following requirements:

                             

Ø      Three (3) original accomplished petition form [copy available at http://abudhabipe.dfa.gov.ph/sample-sites/form-downloads or from the Embassy Consular Section – Civil Registry Counter (C) ]  First get a queuing number before you enter the Consular Section and await your turn to approach the counter.

Ø      The document to be corrected, issued by the NSO in Security Paper and two (2) copies;

Ø      At least two (2) official documents showing the correct information and two (2) copies of each; The original must be presented for the certification of the photocopies.

Ø      Passport of the petitioner and two (2) photocopies showing personal information data;

Ø      Other documents which may be required by the Embassy;

Ø      Filing fee of 200 AED; and

Ø      Two (2) copies of the Official Receipt.  The original must be presented for certification of photocopies.

Step 2:             Personally appear or visit the Embassy to submit the documents.  Get your queuing number from the doorman before you proceed to the Consular Section.  Wait for your number to be called or to appear on the board then proceed to Counter C to submit your documents. 

Step 3:             Proceed to the cashier to pay the filing fee of 200 AED.

Step 4:             The petition will be posted by the Embassy for 10 working days.  Wait for the Embassy’s call when the Embassy receives the decision or Action Taken by the Civil Registrar General.  You will be given a copy of this.  Again, get a queuing number when you visit the Embassy.

Step 5:             Check or follow up with NSO to get your corrected or annotated document.
