The Philippine Embassy in UAE joins in the observance of Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) this September, pursuant to Proclamation No.316, s. 2017.

This year’s theme, “Pamana ng Karagatan: Para sa Kinabukasan, Ating Ingatan,” highlights the valuable resources offered by our maritime and archipelagic nation, which Filipinos are responsible for protecting, preserving, and enriching for the benefit of present and future generations.

The Philippines is a maritime and archipelagic country composed of more than 7,000 islands with more than 14,000 coastal communities highly dependent on marine resources for living. As a maritime nation, it is imperative for every Filipino to develop a sense of unity and pride in addressing the threats to the coastal and marine environment toward preserving the Philippine maritime heritage.
