17 August 2016 –The Bayanihan Council, the umbrella organization of all accredited groups and associations in Abu Dhabi, signed a Declaration Against Human Trafficking upon the initiative of the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi, in commemoration of the World Day Against Trafficking 2016 during its monthly meeting at the Philippine Embassy on August 12.

In his remarks, Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Constancio R. Vingno Jr. called on the Bayanihan Council’s support to the programs of the Embassy, other government agencies and law enforcement authorities, both in the Philippines and the UAE, in the prevention and fight against trafficking in persons. Presidents, chairpersons or designated representatives of the majority of the 58 member-organizations of the Bayanihan Council signed the said declaration.

The declaration symbolizes the Filipino community’s support to the government’s efforts against human trafficking. END
